Our Purpose
The Digital Seer Tarot exists to make the wisdom of tarot accessible, beautiful, and meaningful for everyone — whether you are drawing your first card or have practiced for years. We believe that tarot, at its best, is a tool for self-reflection: a way to pause, look at your situation from a new angle, and access insight you already carry within you.
Our mission is to honour six centuries of tarot tradition while bringing it fully into the present with modern technology, thoughtful design, and AI-powered interpretations that treat each reading as the unique, personal experience it is.
The Technology
At the heart of The Digital Seer is Google's Gemini Vision AI — one of the most capable multimodal language models available. Unlike many tarot apps that serve up generic keyword definitions, our AI actually analyses the visual imagery of each card you draw. It examines the symbolism, composition, figures, and colours of your specific cards in the context of your chosen spread and delivers a cohesive, personalised interpretation.
Each reading is generated as a complete narrative — the AI considers all your cards together, understanding how they interact and speak to each other, rather than treating them as isolated definitions strung together. The result is an interpretation that feels genuinely thoughtful rather than mechanical.
Deck-Specific Intelligence
Each of our six tarot decks comes from a distinct tradition, and our AI is briefed accordingly. When you read with the Visconti-Sforza deck, the AI draws on knowledge of medieval Christian theology and 15th-century Italian court culture. The Tarot de Marseille prompts interpretations rooted in French cartomancy and numerological traditions. The Oswald Wirth deck invokes Kabbalistic correspondences and Hermetic symbolism. This means your readings honour the unique heritage of the deck you choose, rather than applying a generic modern framework to ancient imagery.
Our Decks
We have assembled a collection of decks spanning more than five centuries of tarot history:
- Rider-Waite-Smith (1909) — The world's most influential tarot deck, available to all users.
- Visconti-Sforza (c. 1450) — One of the oldest surviving tarot decks, painted for the rulers of Renaissance Milan.
